Éomer's Playlist

Music to Mourn, to Miss, to Remember, to Love, and to Keep Éomer's Spirit Alive

After Éomer's passing, I began to build a playlist of songs that brought him to my mind. The first was "Sadie" by Joanna Newsom, one of the most heartbreaking songs I have ever heard, that has never failed to make me cry even before Éomer's passing. I began to add more and will continue to update this playlist as time goes on, an ever-changing, continuously growing memento of love for my son.

Some of these songs are sad and evoke deep, somber emotions and might bring forth tears. Some are love songs, but the depth of feeling and bond of love in them reminds me of my love for my son and his love for everyone. Some are just fun, or cute, or befitting a mood or feeling I had once for my boy. But all of them, regardless of genre, quality of recording, seriousness of lyrics, or anything else, make me think of my firstborn. My boy. My son. My little boogie bear. My Éomer.
